I'm fairly new to the silver hunting. Is this silver or plated/electroplated

This tells you the maker/manufacturer:

But I think the EP suggests plate.
Not 100% certain, however.
PM asheland, he knows a lot about silver marks.

Thank you, I'm pretty sure I figured it out though , I think its electroplated nickel.
I only found one in my book , thanks for the post I have some flatware to sell.
Fairly comprehensive hall/maker marks.

Plated will not add to the value of the silverware. Sorry, but I suspect this will be true. Still usable however..

This is true
Silver plated, as mentioned, will not add significant value, but still a serviceable piece. I have come across a lot of plated items at yard sales and antique shops...and usually priced as if they were full silver. Cheers, RickO
Yep, EP is electroplate...

In my experience, solid silver will almost always say STERLING.
I have seen some 19th century silver marked COIN (90% silver) and of course if it is non-US or non-British silver it might give a fineness instead since it might not be sterling (.800, .780, etc.).
Thanks for the info everyone, glad I asked and did some research before i made a purchase
