    My thought too.
Maybe it has an overly dipped look in hand?

I’ll say No mainly for Strike Weakness and Grainy appearing Mint Luster, because 1925 Peace Dollars typically are very well-struck and extremely lustrous.

They have very high rates of stickering at 66 and above.

The 1925: Not something would pay premium for bc of sticker. Common date easy find. With the spots on it I don’t consider it PQ. Not a dog but Would be difficult sell. It has really nice luster but I expect clean spot free surfaces at that grade.

My suggestion find a nice MS64 for around $50 to fill the slot and spend the rest on a nice slabbed (modern) gold coin close to melt.

Not quite but almost. I would have still gave it a quick dip. Too much nasty on the reverse for me.

I see the coin this way.

Nice luster, as a common-date Philly 66 should have. Detail/strike is average for grade. Surfaces show a bit more on the cheek and neck than I like. It's probably just luster breaks, but still, it's there. Rims are OK.

At this point, it's a B 66 to me. Nothing bad. Nothing stellar.

What does it in for me is the dark stuff around "UNITED" and the eagle's right shoulder. Carbon spots or toning that didn't quite dip off. Either way, it bugs me enough that I'd probably pass on it, sticker or no. It's not hard to find nice common-date coins in 66 holders.

The in-hand look could sway me either way, of course.

All of that aside, it is a nice coin and everyone who loves silver dollars should have at least one MS66 or better Peace dollar. The series Just isn't really all that pretty below MS65.

What do I know about this series.......I didn't even like it as a 66.......too many hits I thought.

This is kind of like that old Letterman segment, "will it float?".

I miss all of the fun. The sticker is justified, but the coin is still "meh, who cares?" in my book. It isn't a super PQ example, but I think it squeaks by as solid.
