1944 Wheat with error

Hello all! I am new to collecting and recently found this 1944 Wheat penny with "cut edge", not familiar with all the terms yet. Just wanted to get information on this and if anyone has an idea of an significant worth it may have. Thank you for your time!

If genuine, it would be called a clip. Best to also take a pic of the edge for authentication.
Also, do not waste your money sending it someplace for authentication and grading - it is not worth the postage.

Smitten with DBLCs.
Not all have the Blakeley effect. But that looks suspicions.
Neat find and fun to do searches like this. We all ought to do so more often....
Now, where's my bag of wheaties??

Absence of metal flow makes it highly suspect.
Welcome to the CU forums @Altrent75.
Please post an edge pic.
That is a perfectly legitimate clip with the expected metal flow at the clip and on the opposite rim. Anyone who thinks otherwise should look at the pics again.
As others have said, legitimate does not mean valuable in this case. Sorry.
Here's a few more pics. Tried to get a good one of the edge. I still think its cool!

@Altrent75....Welcome aboard... Great pictures... Looks like a cent made on a clipped planchet... no numismatic value, but interesting. Cheers, RickO

It is best to get in habit of holding coins by the rim
