Going on record to report error with the 2019 uncirculated set

I will just get down to it. We have a talon tail issue. The D cent Kennedy reverse has defect on feathers just above tail feathers. The top feather.

I am the finder on this.

Here’s is the Blue Phil half. Real pretty

Now here is the red Denver half

I was missing a cent, too.

For those who never see here is the problem area. For the PMD campers it is right out of box in capsule

A "right out of the box" on a business strike coin could still have PMD (bag marks) from banging into other coins in the press room.

That said, I'm not really sure what I'm looking at. It looks not fully struck, including the lower feathers. Grease-filled perhaps?

Not an error, looks like a weak strike. Note the "weak strike frost" on the original surface with the missing design.

agree - looks like a weak strike in that area,
    which is opposite Kennedy's head;
I see no error in that area.

Thank you for your input. I appreciate all your wisdom and especially your time and caring.
I know my picture are not the best I am using an I phoneX 10 so it shows all the stuff. I was wondering if it could be from a die filling up with junk or natural aging process. I will do my homework. But if it is a tread or group of coins that goes market hot. Its mine. I might not have star named after me but maybe a weak strike will fulfill my name for the history books. :)

This is a simplistic explanation: A filled die often leaves an "artifact" of the material filling the die on the coin's
surface, while a weakly struck area never touched the die and is mostly flat with a different mint quality luster than seen on the rest of the coin that did touch the die.

Thanks for the detailed input @Insider2 ...Makes sense, especially when viewing the pictures with that information... Cheers, RickO

This is an example of a 100% natural surface with a tiny bit of weakness that "jumps out" due to the color of the "flat strike luster and original planchet roughness. I'll try to post a strike thru. Generally they are incuse.

Better yet, what's that stuff on his chin?

    Seem liked an UHR obverse.
