Odd toning on reverse makes me thing AT but what could do this & why would anyone do it to a MS66?

My guess is that this is a scan and who knows what the coin actually looks like in-hand.
In honor of the memory of Cpl. Michael E. Thompson
Never thought of that.
Humm???
I'm not really in the market for a 24 but if something with super cool toning pops up....???
24's are generally pretty boring looking.

A scan instead of a good photo of an MS-66 Saint should be a punishable offense.

BTW...This Simpson saint looks pan-fried to me but it's actually a 6/2 coin

alloy mix.
Faulty planchet mixture can cause some rose or peach on gold which is actually quite attractive in hand.
Here you can actually see the copper spots mostly on the reverse from the improper planchet mixture.
This is actually the coolest toned gold as it tones from within... Not that fruity red/blue crap novices drool over.
WOW...That's a cool looking 25
Never seen that one before and it looks like a 67

$10 Indians come that way too...
That was a 67 which hammered over $10K.
Heritage just had 2 common date Saints with colorful centers...
I can't remember the dates as my consignment agent also sends me lists of stuff that might interest me.
I've seen that silvery metallic toning on $10 Indians and some of the Gold Dollar Commems. I like it!

Some nice coins posted=eye candy.
It is called "skin." Some of this haze is natural and some is artificial and turns "bluish" over time.
Fortunately, my gold coins are all gold in color.... I would pass on those coins... Just not my preference. If I want color, I will buy some crayons.... Cheers, RickO
