Just a commen, that used to be the case. Crossing has become extremely difficult these days.

So PCGS is now tougher than CAC?

PCGS has gone bonkers with many series IMHO. It is a bit better than before (when I refused to submit at all), but it still far from being completely back to normal IMHO.

Please clarify that Cameo. Bonkers as in tight?

Yes the grading is very tight, but I have also noticed major differences in strike designations where the subtleties are not as subjective except in borderline cases.

That is a positive. If it continues the CAC sticker will become obsolete.

Most of the higher dollar coins that are eligible, have already been seen by the swami...no?

    Hey MasonG & Zoins,

whether you collect for fun or investment, getting some professional help is better than not getting any advice. If you go to a show and there are many dealers around, why wouldn't you get advice from a pro. If you don't go to shows then call a dealer and most better dealers are willing to help you put a collection together in free advise.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with working with dealers. I’ve asked dealers for advice and also have want lists with dealers that I’ve purchased from.

I do think it’s risky for collectors when a dealer is (a) saying pay top dollar for coins and (b) campaigning to hide the crackout history of coins being sold. I do hope one particular dealer who has always championed collectors in the past can see that providing more information to collectors is better than hiding it from them.
