Nice! Find any W’s and if so are they Lowell or American memorial?

Cool worth way more than the roll.

Wonder if pcgs would grade it with being a W blank planchet?

It is surrounded by "P" mintmarks

PCGS would not slab it with a date/mm

There's no way to proof the planchet came
out of that roll, aside from the OP's statement,
which I do not doubt at all.

Notate that it came from an original roll,
    etc, date/mm etc., on a 2x2 flip - that's
about all you can do - document it for
    yourself.

Great find - happens, but very rarely.

The W's get "sprinkled" into the P & D rolls. There are no "W" rolls. The OP was a Joke.

I think that was an American Memorial blank that slipped into the Lowell hopper and didn't get struck. A double error...

Actually, I think that is a capped die $5 gold commemorative struck on a quarter planchet. Should be worth $100k, easily!

I got me a dated blank planchet :D:oB)

  • direwolf1972direwolf1972 Posts: 2,076 ✭✭✭

I found one in mine as well during the first week of discovery.

I had 68 West Points and a blank type II planchet dead in the middle of them.

I stupidly sent it in for grading with my Lowell's and still haven't gotten my grades (arrived at PCGS April 16th).

I was told that the error service is currently running 25 to 35 business days.

I'll see the grades on my W's back sometime around Christmas it feels like.

Wow, you've lost a lot of profits waiting for grading.

Did putting FD19 on the shipping box make a difference?

Yes I put FD19 on the box. I agree I've taken a beating over this whole thing.
