Nice for the grade!

It's been awhile since I have seen one of these threads. I'm always fascinated by cards that don't look like the numeric slab they sit in. Show off your low grade high eye appeal cards. I'll add one of my new favorites after mail day today.

Pretty nice looking PSA 5. Not sure why the low grade.
Nice looking PSA 3 for Willie
Awesome Bench! Has to be a light wrinkle on the back keeping it a 5.
KC
KC do you recognize that Mays?
That Bench is a blazer. Could you ever decipher what the issue is with that card? I once had a very similar result with what I thought would be a gem mint 1985 Donruss Eric Davis, came back a 5. I still can’t figure it out to this day.
Nice Mays also. Don’t see many of those and what I consider a underrated, sleeper Mays card.

I still think my Dempsey is nicer than a 2.5
Tiny chip makes it a 5.

Did not see it the first time. Yes I do and remember that card well. Looks like a 6/7 except for the tiny crease on the lower right side. Probably should have never sold it since it had great corners, color and gloss -glad it has a great home!

A couple of my personal favorites. Considering my early PSA cards were all PSA 8 and above (I was a buy the holder collector early and went for corners primarily). Luckily i learned a lot from this board and several collectors like Jeff and Matt(DM23) and the last few years I have gone for centering and eye appeal first and grade second. Has saved me a ton of $$ and I enjoy the cards just as much.
Top right corner. Otherwise it is a solid card
Some excellent looking cards for their grade wow. Thanks for sharing.

And none of these cards have qualifiers either. Some beauties!
To be honest, no direction, but...

The best 1 of this card I've ever seen.....Has all the look of a 5...except for the staple mark which doesn't bother me in the least....
Great stuff in this thread!
A good card

Is there a large margarine stain on here somewhere? From the front it looks super nice.

Are you the one that does the 48 Leaf boxing? I just ran across a small lot of pack fresh cards! There are maybe 17 in the lot. I think the best are LaMotta and Jack Johnson but I don't know squat about this set. A few with centering issues. The deal is that the original owner bought them in packs, his dad wouldn't let him play with them so they sat in a drawer until they were sold to the current owner. I mean, razor sharp corners. I tried to pick a couple up today but couldn't get prices out of the owner. Hoping I can pick some if not all of them up next week so I have some pics to show. I would love any info about the set!
