Have you ever seen raised metal bubbles on a trade $ before? Link inside

On the reverse of this trade dollar (link below), there is a bunch of raised metal bubbles around the word Fine on the reverse. Especially in the area below the gap between the N and E. Otherwise they're seen above and in between the letters of FIN.
Has anyone seen this before? what could cause this?

Quite common on counterfeits from China
Such raised bubbles are commonly seen on US Mint products of the 18th and 19th century from rusty dies. Happens a lot in the seated coin series, especially at some of the branch mints like CC and New Orleans. Rust on the die results in a pit. That pit becomes a raised dot or blob on a coin. Restrike dies from the US Mint often show this as the dies sat for up to decades before they were used again by the restriker....sometimes the mint themselves.
Other possible ways for this to happen are from counterfeit dies, cast dies, etc. Such dies often leave pits or voids on the surface of the die. The CC trade dollars are often seen counterfeit. Probably more fakes than real ones out there.
That's an obvious counterfeit CC Trade Dollar
Question: Have you ever seen raised metal bubbles on a Trade $ before?
Yes, frequently. However, "raised metal bubbles" refers to a specific characteristic "look." "Bubbles" indicates something roundish and smooth. These can be seen on a cast coin. Generally they are perfectly round. The other smooth bubble-like characteristic we find on genuine Trade dollars is usually caused by extremes of heat. These tend to be elongated. I don't have any images of these characteristics at the moment that are handy. You have given me a great idea for an article, Thanks!

It is highly unlikely that the coin shown is genuine.
Many folks (myself included) should only buy Trade Dollars in a PCGS holder.
Or in the holders of other widely respected grading companies.

Gone, but thanks for capturing a picture... yep.. fake... Cheers, RickO
Thanks for pulling screen shots before the auction was closed. The Trade $$ is a piece I need for my type. I like looking at as many images as I can of real ones AND fakes. I'm happy to say even I would have caught this one... some of the recent Chinese fakes in fake slabs give me cause for concern.

I like to see what the problem is so that I can train my eyes, brain, and have a reference. Once the auction gets “poofed” there is usually nothing to visually reference anymore.
