Steel Penny 1945

I have recently found a 1945 steel wheat penny yes I tested it on a magnet cause I have read they may have forgeries. Does anyone have any idea how much it may be it is in decent shape circulated condition.

Welcome to the forum.
Some 1943 were made with copper & some 1944 were made with steel by error. I have never heard of a 1945. Best chance it is not a genuine US Mint coin. Photos would help to give you a better answer.

How much does the cent weigh in grams.

My guess is that it’s a genuine (bronze) coin, but plated and worth just a few cents.

Please give me a moment to pop some corn.
If anything at all, pmd on the '3' of the date. Making it appear '5' like......
If real, it is worth over $100k. Could be worth even more. It would be unique.
In all likelihood (99.999999999% chance), it is not real. It is most likely due to plating of a bronze 1945 coin or a damaged 1943 date that looks like 1945.
Welcome to the board.
Possibly chrome plated, which would attract to a magnet. Back in the 50’s and 60’s charm bracelets were popular and one popular theme was coins with your kids birth years on them. Cents would often be plated to prevent tarnishing.
Sorry I misread the date it is a 1943 steel wheat penny
Aren’t you glad you took a pic...
