PAL PARSIPPANY NJ CARD SHOW - May 2019 WITH PICTURES
A solid show with some solid dealers.
It’s held at 33 Baldwin Rd in Parsippany, NJ - I’d love to meet a NJ board member or two there next time...
(I hope this is ok to mention - I don’t have tables or anything but I like having a local card show to attend so I want to talk it up a little).
First Tuesday each month...
Friendly atmosphere, fun raffles and games and some really solid vintage...
And here’s the reason I went...
...a great deal on a great looking copy of a very elusive card - from his playing days - of the Splendid Splinter for my set. Special thanks to Harry Kolb of HK Vintage Sportscards...

Absolutely beautiful Teddy ballgame. I love propagandas montiel cards. They are very unique, not to mention beautiful and rare.
Thanks - here’s who else I have so far:

Man, what a collection! Nice work.
+1
I’ve always been curious about these and thought they were cool. I collect 1960s Venezuelan Topps, so I feel a kinship with guys who collect Montiels. Congrats on a beautiful collection.
Yaz Master Set
#1 Gino Cappelletti master set
#1 John Hannah master set
Also collecting Andre Tippett, Patriots Greats' RCs, Dwight Evans, 1964 Venezuelan Topps, 1974 Topps Red Sox
There’s not a ton of sets from the years 1946-1947 but there were still great baseball players. Since there’s not much to go by on the front, the big stars are closest to the Babe. The two to the left are Carl Hubbell and Joe DiMaggio, to his right are Bob Feller and Lou Gehrig and directly above are Christy Mathewson and Bill Dickey. There’s other Hall of Famers pictured, too, but those are the attention getters I have - with Ted Williams now, too.

I love the photos of all the great vintage cards. My favorite is the "rookie cards" display. Wow! What a collection.
Not easy to tell but in the second photo of cases, at right you’ll see a 58T Mickey and below it a 63T Mickey. Both represent the last of what were complete Mickey Mantle rows of base cards (mid grade, 4-6ish) from I’d say 54-69.
I was in heaven. Good looking and reasonably priced Mantle’s.

Wow, definitely some nice cards at the show!!!
"Molon Labe"
One of the best things about a card show is there’s added motivation to buy and sell. And with no eBay or other fees some really nice deals can be reached. I know I don’t ever go and walk out with nothing. And I think most guys there would like to move a couple of cards to help cash flow and cover table costs. Not everyone lists everything online...

Thanx for reporting Tim.
Ya know.
I went to that show back in 1994 when I was stationed at Ft Hamilton, NY.
I bought a box of Topps cards that contained the Mantle chrome reprints e.g.
If there's negotiating room with the asking prices on some cards? I think one can pick up some nice cards at a very fair price?
Love that signed Koufax in one of the pics you provided!
I know him.
Cant quite make out the price ($525???) but if you like it enough to buy it, I can surely reach out for you or put you into contact...

Holy nostalgia, Batman! I was at this show damn near every Tuesday in the late 90s, complete with the free admission coupon from the Star Ledger. Glad to see it's still going on. Met so many great vendors back then. Still bump into them from time to time at shows.
Some months are more full than others but this was a good one. There’s a TON of modern too - a lot sharp and ungraded. I will shoot some pictures of that too if I make it next month. Not really my bag but I have to agree that there’s been some very beautiful cards produced from 1970 to the present.

Remember going back in the early 90s...was a great local show. Went last year and was pleasantly surprised, but nowhere near its heyday.
Looking forward to the additional pics.
