Monticello full steps 1973d

I just finished sorting my 3500plus collection of pre 1975 nickels from my bank heists previously posted and as I did it I pulled out a couple interesting uncirculated or near unc. ones. Turns out the first one I looked at was this 73d . Not sure its uncirc. but pretty close- no scratches. The steps have a few nicks. Sorry my camera only pans back this far but the rest of the steps are about the same. soooo
1- How many steps are there
2- Any premium

it looks to have six Full Steps but the nicks and gouges would preclude any such designation. also, judging from the pillars/portico it is probably not uncirculated, as you said. the dies were reworked prior to striking the 1971 coins so the early dates like this tend to come nice.
If it did not have the nicks (as keets said) it could go full steps..... but they clearly eliminate that designation. Cheers, RickO
Even without FS it can still be considered a nice find.
From our host:
Full Steps
Jefferson Nickels: MS60 or better, at least five complete steps must appear on Monticello. Any steps that join or fuse together, whether created that way or subsequently damaged, cannot be considered for the Full Steps designation.

I am not looking for the ultimate coin. I just want to start a collection of different varieties. So I will start with this 73d and if I dfind a better one I will replace it at the same time maybe trading it. I have 3700 nickels before 1972 to go through. Hopefully I can fill a page or two or three for my collection of different errors, colors, toning, steps, alligators or whatever makes it different. Along the way if there is a premium for them all the better. I am having a blast doing it and I only paid a nickel apiece for every nickel I have...
