Cleaned 1899 Barber Half

PTVETTERPTVETTER Posts: 6,001 ✭✭✭✭✭

Today I had a chance to see a nice AU Barber half only problem is it has been cleaned
ANY chance to improve to look.
Some of my ideas are
Soak in acetone and let it sit
Dip and rinse and let it sit

Any other ideas?????

That's funny, something you can do to undo something done to a coin???

Not a fat chance in ....

If hairlined cleaned, no. The 1899 is one of the most common dates. AU Barber halves seem to be all over the place in the last couple of years. Why not find one that has not been cleaned?

Carry it as a pocket piece for 15 years. Report back, in...let’s say...May, 2034.

Always looking for original, better date VF20-VF35 Barber quarters and halves, and a quality beer.

Best to move on and get a piece that is not cleaned.... one cannot 'undo' what has been done... Cheers, RickO
