A first for me

I found a Mercury Dime last night.
We as a family were again on a walk last night. As we were walking I looked down and saw this.
This is the first Mercury Dime we have in our collection

Congrats @Brutalfly! Free silver in the wild is always a great find.
That is super.... and another forum member's son found a silver Washington quarter while out .....Looks as if I better do some more walking around....
Cheers, RickO
That was actually my son.
So the night before my son found the silver Washington and then last night I found the Mercury Dime.
Cool! Hasn’t happened to me yet. Still looking.
I’m especially looking for rusty coffee cans sticking out of the ground.
Silver is always good.
@Brutalfly .... That is great ....did not remember who posted that...Congratulations on the double find...Cheers, RickO
Where about did you find that (maybe City, State, or just State if you're skittish about people knowing where you live)? Maybe it was one that one of us tossed out into the wild! I released about a dozen Mercury dimes in Milwaukee and Madison, WI areas, as well as about 20 Buffalo Nickels, 20 Liberty V Nickels, and maybe 5ish IHCs, so far. Still working on the rest of the bag of goodies I put aside to release - was going to try to get it all out last week, but didn't succeed, so I'll still work on it over the longer haul.
Rocking my "shiny-object-syndrome"!!!
The title of this thread is "A first for me". If you are talking about finding a Mercury dime on the ground (or even any silver coin on the ground), its not like we've all done it before.
That would pretty much just be a "first".
P.S. - if you found the dime and the quarter in he same area it might not be a coincidence. Either a kid raided someone's stash, or they are discarded rejects from a Coinstar dump, etc. I'd look for more.
Sounds like someone spread some coins during last weeks Great American Coin Hunt in the area.
That would be a first for me too. I've only found merc dimes in the ground.

Congrats! Is that a 45-s or micro-s?
