Trying to upgrade some key pieces in my Morgan collection.... the grade is MS66+ and will be heading to CAC at some time in the future. A great purchase through Park Avenue Numismatics in Miami. Bob Green was great to deal with and called me personally to ensure a smooth transaction. Opinions always welcome.

Not one I would select.

The coin has numerous dark spots on reverse. The obverse appears dull and some light spots visible. Probably not a c coin just not something I would call PQ let alone pay 66 money for.

For cc material at that price level I prefer pieces wellstruck, brilliant pristine surfaces, dazzling swirling cartwheel luster, and PQ. So do my customers on the bourse.

The dark spots are changes in reflectivity on the surface. The photo is not the best representation of the coin in hand.

Pictures look a little grainy to me and Im not sure why.

That said- I grade it borderline 67 from those photos.

If you can find 1 ms65 morgan that is not a 93-s or 92-s that has as clean surfaces as this one I would be very surprised.

Yes , they are nicks in the frost of the coin which will appear as dark spots. They are enhanced by the photo / light.

I researched CDN to see if any gain in bid value from sticker but it shows same amount for both. Usually for big ticket material like this there is, interesting.

Based on the TrueView photos your coin appears to have lustrous Satiny Fields with some nice Frosty Cameo Contrasting devices.

Very nice 81-CC without a doubt and easily representative of the assigned grade! Typical sharp strike, very clean surfaces and that excellent CC luster. I'm guessing those few inconsequential flyspecks on the reverse may be a result of an inadequate rinse and dry after an old dip. In any case they're not distracting and that's a top end 81-CC by any measure.

Here's a recent pickup of mine, a pretty sharp 64PL..
