Anyone have ones of these?
What do you think of these restrikes?
Just ran across this die trial which I thought was cool. It's from the Frederick Charles Cogswell Boyd collection. It sold in 2017 at Baltimore. Anyone know where this is now? Has it been slabbed?

Fascinating!
Found an old thread started by @EagleEye about the confederate half dollar.

ATS has slabbed some with auction history.

Thanks @Hemispherical. I noticed that I had posted in @EagleEye’s thread back 8 years ago. Always nice to revisit old threads, though I wish the pics were still there. Should be better now that the forums support uploads.
I think it is great that these old pieces somehow survived over 150 years and are still preserved for study and appreciation....Cheers, RickO
There were a total of 3 die trials in the 2017 Baltimore auction, including the one above:
CSA Half Dollar JW Scott Restrike Die Trial Standard Reverse
CSA Half Dollar JW Scott Restrike Die Trial Honor Reverse Ex: FCC Boyd
These were discussed by Confederate numismatica expert Peter Bertram on E-Sylum:
Awesome, I like it !!!
Relying on the auction lot images, I don't see much change in the "reverse" from piece to piece. Brass is usually too hard to leave the 1861 coin relief intact when stuck under sufficient pressure to bring up text and reeding.
