Anti-Tarnish Strips

I received a sample of this in a new display case I bought. Do they work? Should I put them in with my coins?
What are your thoughts??

Can’t hurt. I think these sacrificial surfaces from IS do protect some coins from oxidation. I also suspect that some coins may have conditions on their surfaces that they can’t be protected in this way.
(I speculate that it’s clad issues and .999 silver, among others, that benefit. Nickels and some silver coins (previously dipped?), not as much.)
I have used their boxes, but never tried the strips.... Happy with the boxes...Cheers, RickO
Yes, they work. You can actually just put a chunk of magnesium in the box. LOL. They would work better if in electrical contact with the coins.
I bet the @ricko house is completely lined in the stuff.
@clarkbar04....I use it for wallpaper....

Cheers, RickO
Just to remind myself and any one else who might need it....
These strips do not emit an anti-tarnish agent, but rather, they "intercept" or attract the harmful elements in the air before they can get to the coin. In other words, they work effectively in a sealed environment. If you were to put one out in an open area or even a well ventilated space then you would be wasting their effectiveness on the "bad air" from the larger surrounding environment.
I am happy to report that @ricko is Tarnish free

Everything of his is blast white - even the copper.
Sounds like a shocking experience!!

I have a sealed 8 slab display case and I cut the strip in half and laid it on each side. Hopefully this will be effective.
Of course you know, I want to keep these bright, white and shiny!! 😁

I hear he wears them like nicotine patches.

I doubt they'll be very effective in that box unless it has a tight seal. Sacrificial abodes protect materials by sacrificing themselves. They corrode easily. In a closed space, they will use up water and oxygen, maybe sulfur as they themselves corrode. But if your box isn't tightly sealed, there is constant air flow replacing the water and oxygen.
That said, those newer slabs are probably far more effective than that loose-lidded box with sacrificial anodes.

I do have access to a few types of weather stripping at work. I think I can come up with something thin/thick enough to close that gap.
This is the type of box that can be hung on a wall (only 8 slabs) the way it is and it hung there for let's say 20 years (in South Florida) without sealing the cover what can I expect. Am I going overboard here or can I expect tarnish or heaven forbid
some kind of horrible toning!
Please advise
