Out of One Album and into Another - Peace Dollar

I had a plain old washed out Peace Dollar in my 7070 album for many years. A few weeks back I came across an album of Peace Dollars that I had assembled on a whim quite a few years ago. I had acquired most of the dates via some small estates I had purchased and put them in an album, bought a few of the remaining ones I didn’t have, then pretty much forgot about it.

While looking for something else, I found that album, spent a few minutes admiring it, then decided this 22S deserved to be in my 7070. Does anyone else ever ‘repurpose’ coins like this?

Nice.....I've always liked mintmarked Peace dollars. Have always believed that they're undervalued.

That's a really nice looking example.

I like the peace dollar and Franklin series, too. I purchased nice examples, when I can find them at fair prices.

Really nice look for a 22-S. Perfect representative of type for a 7070.

Nice subtle toning. Die crack on obverse from "D" of GOD to base of neck? Had my eyes dilated today, so not sure.

Nice PD! I do repurpose coins like that. I love albums and I am working on a few. I have moved some coins around to where they fit in better.

I have repurposed too. Mostly with ASE and Libertads. Nicer toned ones get all dumped into the same album

ricko - surprised to hear that!
I thought for sure you would have kept the white one in the 7070, AND traded this one, for another white one for
    the Peace dollar album. :)

Thanks. From my limited exposure to them, I would certainly agree. I remember I had several nice 21P and 28P Peace dollars available for my album, but had to 'go shopping' at shows to find the 26S, 27S, 28S, and 34S in AU.
The last two were a lot harder to find than I would have thought.

Lots nicer than the typical banged up and weakly struck 22-S.

MS66 taste on an MS63 budget.

Nice find! Maybe you can go back to this source in the future and find other nice coins.
