The Perfect Newp! When hobbies collide. :)
So if you know me at all, you know I am all about The Jefferson Nickels. Recently I have been deeply into ⚾️ Baseball, movies, real games, and cards.
My favorite team is the Philadelphia Phillies, and favorite active player is Rhys Hoskins, now in his second year of MLB.
I have an autographed card of his from the 2019 Topps Heritage series, and several other cards as well.
The new Heritage series has many varieties of different special and rare cards, and a very short mintage of coin cards with proof 1970 coins pressed in. Most have been $100-$200 on eBay, coins not properly oriented, and had random players. I had given up on owning one of these.
Well, lightning ⛈ struck twice tonight when I did a random eBay search and found an auction about to end, I scored a nickel card for a shocking low price compared to the BIN ask prices. Then I found a BIN for a Phillies card, with a perfect centered Nickel!! The price was higher but it had everything I wanted in one of these! Wooooo
Tonight I found the perfect baseball card! My two favorite interests combined and featured my favorite active player!

The baseball cards have been kind of fun, there being many special cards and varieties to look for. Some are obvious, some are minor. Here is all my Hoskins varieties. Left to right top row to bottom,
Purple chrome, cloth sticker, short print base card, action print variety, real on card autograph, French text variety, Gypsy Queen blank name plate, GQ base card, Gold chrome “box topper”
And here is the “low cost” card I won tonight

The collision of two hobbies! Nice pickups @Aspie_Rocco!
Awesome stuff! Thanks for sharing!
Nice...!
Great finds. FS on the nickels?
Nice when two hobbies merge ...Happens occasionally....though not for me - so far. Cheers, RickO
Should be full steps, they are proof coins.
After looking at all available Nickel cards, the Hoskins card is the only one with a proper orientation / placement.

Very cool!
My YouTube Channel
Neat! As an Indians fan I like the Kluber one.
Here's one I have that merges Philately and Numismatics-
Love it. I am in a similar boat as you. I took off years from collecting cards. I only collected coins since 2006. Now im getting back in deep with football and baseball cards. I love hitting relic and autographs in packs. There isn't much more exciting than ripping packs. I like your card. I have not hit one of those yet.
Very nice, Rocco. Nice to see you enjoying both hobbies!
