1966 Monticello Nickel laminated front DD reverse

KkathylKkathyl Posts: 3,762 ✭✭✭✭✭

Been studying the Nickels for a few weeks just interested not higher value series especially circulated but found this one interesting. It is well worn but no doubt it has a few true errors. Alignment, lamination blob and double reverse.

Thanks for reading

The doubling appears to be machine doubling.

Rolling machine damage on obverse, machine/strike doubling on reverse.

Nice example too as there is "wheel rubber" still on the coin.

I have a fat boy 2000 that is cool too
What is difficult is seeing any error coin for sure once it’s well circulated.

That '66 has been well circulated....and you are right... seeing details can be difficult on circulated coins... often new collectors see 'errors' that are due to circulation PMD....Cheers, RickO

this foreign coin is DD but only can tell because of distinct separate letter and trees the last picture is filled in 9

Filled in 9 here will look much different one the circulation begins
