My 12 piece gold type set
I thought of a cool way to showcase my type set. As they are all slabbed and I prefer it that way I also very much like the look of the old school Capitol holders, so...
I grabbed this picture of a generic, circulated set off of the internet: mainly just to have an image of the holder...
And had my friend crop two of my coins and place them in the image, (the $10 Indian and Saint)
Picture edited out, new thread coming soon...
I think he did an excellent job of placing the pictures. Obviously the color from the two vary greatly (the Saint isn’t that orange, it’s the different light source) so I’m planning to re-image all 12 coins and have my friend crop them. I think this should look cool!
I’ll update the thread later when this little project is done.

Which set are your coins?
The second set of pictures, just the $10 Indian and Saint. I'm planning to re-do the entire thing with fresh pictures...
probably in a few days

Nicely done @asheland. Those Capital Holders do I good job of displaying a complete set. The photo is suitable for framing.
@asheland
That’s a good idea! Inserting coin images as a presentation set.
Putting it on my to-do list for my TVs.
Maybe put up the empty holder so others can play along. Hint Hint.
nice set I like. wed love to see it when your done
Thanks everybody! I think it'll turn out well, if I like the results enough, I may very well have it printed to hang on the wall.

That's a neat idea.....
Count me among those that always liked the 'Capital' look !
Gold looks so nice in a black Capital. Please enter me in this generous giveaway

I like it, and have done something similar with my toned Indian set! Consider making a black circle to cover up all the coins that are not yours. Then when you have a coin to go there, replace it with your coin. Here is my set... I basically just did a digital capital holder.
Nice idea.

While not as nice as a black Capital holder, the PCGS Registry has a feature that allows you to digitally place your coins in a “Dansco” type album. This takes so much less time. Here’s a link to mine. Just touch the corners to turn the pages, and you get to see the reverses as well (and the grades too).

@asheland that is such a great idea! What a great way to display your collection while keeping it safe and secure at the same time. Well done!

Cooler the Cool @asheland
I applaud you for your focus and determination to complete your gold type set. BRAVO!!!!!!
That will look very nice... gold in black makes a nice contrast. Look forward to the completed project. Cheers, RickO
Cool. Yes, important to photograph them under similar lighting conditions.
Here’s the similar thing I did. I’ve posted it a few times previously. Obviously there’s a trade off between mimicking a physical holder and only showing one side or showing both. I’ve done various photoshop composites both ways and both can be fun.
All that Gold is very inspirational. I need about 5 more Coins to have a complete 12 pc Type Set like that. Maybe it's time to finally get the last 5? Why not?
No time like the present.
Prices are very good right now, you just gotta be patient and find the right coins! Go for it!
