50th birthday present - gold

My business partner and friend of 35 years (met him in Jr. High.) is turning 50 on Monday. He recently has started to want to buy gold as an investment, and has only been casually interested in the coins I collect.
I decided to take advantage of his love of gold to do something nice for his birthday. Initially I was just going to buy some raw coins and put them in a capital plastics holder, but that just seemed rather cheesy. A little research and some creative ideas led me to this:
the front side are pics I found of Philadelphia circa 1904 (the date of the $20 Lib) and another of San Francisco in 1851. The photos are are on a matte hardboard and can be flipped depending on one's mood.
I hope he likes it.

I like your ultimate idea, but why did the Capital Plastics holder seem cheesy? The holders provide a beautiful presentation. Would the coins be too low quality?
Well, if he doesn’t, I like it. A LOT!

What's not to like?. Great gift.
My 50th birthday fell on Easter Sunday (a number of years back) and I got a nice cake. Nice photograph with wife & kid too, a favorite photo of mine.
Your business partner and friend is especially fortunate! Make certain that you take a nice picture of you two and the gift as a souvenir.
I guess Cheesy is not the best description. With so many fakes out of china, I thought it best to get holdered coins. Secondly, it is hard to find raw gold coins unholdered in high enough grades that I wanted. Capital holders do not hold slabbed coins.
Yeah, like Dansco albums, the best way to get high grades may to be get slabbed coins and crack them out. But this may not be the best for the novice collector.
Wow! Heck of a gift. Any reason only one of the is not a gold shield?
On a time crunch.
Gold coins and a presentation case to display the coins (and will work to hide them). That is a very nice present @ARCO.
Awesome all around, from the presentation to the coins!
Heckuva set!
Well done.
