Very nice old coin.... Just an assessment based on the pictures.. perhaps an MS62/63.....could be totally different in hand or with different lighting... Cheers, RickO
Lots of really good guesses, this is a tough one! I have always thought it was undergraded. Currently it's listed, but I have been thinking about submitting it to PCGS to see what it would get. I do like those really little ANACS holders though!
That coins worth way more in a 58 or 58+ holder. A 58+ would probably reach 64-65 price levels in a major auction. I believe you would get anywhere from a 58-62 if you sent it in for crossover. If I did I would be hoping for the lower grade!

Really clean surfaces that look mint state, but I have a feeling there is too much light to get much farther than that.

Great date & MM..
Is it in an old NGC Fattie holder?
The obverse looks strange in the fields...MS-64
Close! Old ANACS.
Nice, so it is straight graded then?
I feel it is an under rated coin above XF
Yes, straight grade. No funny business.
I'd go AU-58

It certainly looks MS to me, and old ANACS was usually on the conservative side, so I'll guess MS63.

I'll guess MS64.

Looks some polishing marks in field and not hairlines.
Possibly cleaned?

Will go out on limb and say MS 64

Wow - must be something I missed, as I was in the 63 range....
I like these holders also - I have a number of large cents that are probably 'worth more' in PC plastic,
but am loathe to break them out.
