An election for trustee was decided by a coin. Unfortunately they don’t get into the details of what the significance of the coin or date is (if any).

“A toss of an 1899 silver dollar decided a tie in an election for trustee in Sauk Village.

Gary Bell called tails and won a seat on the village board when the coin landed tails-side up.”

Anyone check to see if it was a magician coin? :D

“Edmund Michalowski, deputy clerk of elections, said he bought the 1899 Morgan silver dollar with Lady Liberty on the front and an eagle on the back at Harlan J. Berk Ltd., a coin dealer located near the clerk’s office in downtown Chicago.”

Maybe Mr. Berk is a forumite?

Tough way to lose an election... and rough treatment for a silver Morgan.... Cheers, RickO
