I was helping a friend sell this complete set and was not able to find someone willing to pay what he wanted for it.... so I bought it!! I have always preferred many coins other than these but for some reason I fell in love with this set!

Great pickup on the Buff set! Now it’s time to fill the holes and the never ending upgrading cycle.
And don’t forget the Buff books.

Are you going to crack the slabs and make it whole?
I would say +1 on the crack and complete

The holes are filled but those coins are in the slabs in the photo above.
Going to keep the slabs as-is for now.
Welcome to the club! It's a truly fascinating series and has something for everyone, especially those (like me) who are into varieties.
Very cool.
Hoard the keys.
I would crack those out and complete the album.
Nice set... and yes, I agree... crack the slabs and complete the albums....Cheers, RickO

The Dansco album is one of the best albums for the buffalo nickel collector. I especially like the four extra spaces just in case you want to include coins like the 1916 doubled die or perhaps a 3 and one half legger or a 1914/3. When Whitman came out with their “BOOKSHELF” line of albums in the early 1960ies for the buffalo nickel album there were only 66
openings, 64 for the regular issues and one each for the 1918/7-d and the 1937-d 3 legger. And then in the early 1960ies the 1938-d/s was discovered and became available, and there was no opening in their 66 slot album to hold this new and significant variety!
I think this mistake by Whitman caused a number of collectors to abandon their bookshelf album and go to something else,
which had some extra room for new and significant varieties.
a.k.a "The BUFFINATOR"
Mine too, for sure! Congrats on your full set. A whole lot of Buff collections haven't got to your level of completeness.
I also like your 1926-S.

I'll "third" those comments!
what does a set like that cost?
