@tmot99's website http://1893columbianexpo.com is down now.
Hopefully this is just temporary for Tom's site as there was a lot of valuable information there on So-Called Dollars and Eglit medals for the Columbian Expo.
Can anyone get in touch with him to get this up and running again? He hasn't logged in here since Jan 6.
I've noticed a growing number of great reference websites going down which has been sad for me to see.

Not just down, but seems to be available for sale. Not a good sign.
Doesn’t expire until 2020. He may have registered another domain name and found another registrar and/or host?

It’s not the best solution, but using the web archive will let you see some of the pages:

One reason why I like books.
I agree. I think PDF publications can survive better than websites as well which is why I like the ANS Magazine and Mint Error News, not that they are going anywhere, along with others.
I've seen numerous reference websites go under that it's sad. I've been wanting to create a project to revive some of them from Archive.org.
just do what Tom says, buy the freakin' book.
while I admit to being online every day and streaming with a FireStick I am not as potentially helpless as most people will be whenever there's a large scale catastrophe. the world of today will be paralyzed whenever that happens. oh the horror, I can't use my cell phone!!!
I buy lots of books, in PDF format (like Rulau) or for the Kindle (many)
I’ve offered to help authors move their books to the Kindle and have even converted chapters for them. I’m also in the process of publishing my own books in PDF and on the Kindle.
Also, for many websites I have visited, there is no book to buy, just a labor of love that is no longer here
the SC$ website which tmot99 hosted also shows an expired security certificate when I try to visit it.

Just checked the site again and it looks like the domain is no longer pointing to a site.
Archive.org is decent, but I've found that it can miss a lot of pages and images.
It would be great if NNP could archive websites with photos.
@Zoins I am not sure if this will be helpful but in the forum Resources thread there is a SCD website listed:
https://socalleddollar.com
While there are links to various SCD searches there is one for Columbian Expo:
https://socalleddollar.com/worldcol.html
This page has the listings and a links to images. Also near the top is a link to all images.
At the top of the page is another link to a page that is supposed to have the Eglit noted in the OP.
https://socalleddollar.com/WCEStoreCards.html
It is noted that this page has no images but that some can be found at the noted links. One of those links is for the Tom Hoffmans world columbian web site (now located at):
https://web.archive.org/web/20130505205503/http://www.1893columbianexpo.com/index.html
I believe this is probably the Archive location noted above.

The domain is parked, not for sale. This could imply that the owner is working on finding a new host or perhaps temporarily unable to keep paying for hosting fees. Edit to add: we had a problem early on when we picked a hosting service that decided to go belly up without telling anyone. I like SquareSpace personally-never have any problems. We maintain domain ownership via Enom.
