Just ran into this great looking gold Jacques Wiener medal. It's the first gold Wiener medal I've seen.
The following October 2012 "Wiener Cathedral Medals Presentation" by Stephen Petty of CONA (Central Ohio Numismatic Association) indicates only bronze and silver were struck: "The vast majority of his medals were struck in bronze, with a relatively few in silver."
Are there any other gold ones?

Wow! That is the first I have seen those in gold.
Wow!
What a beauty!
The amazing relief is even more striking in gold.
"Inspiration exists, but it has to find you working" Pablo Picasso
Perhaps a special striking for a Russian aristocrat whose heirs fled with it following the Communist takeover? Exceptional condition for a large medal of that age.
That is the first gold Wiener medal I have seen.... Absolutely beautiful.....Thanks for showing us. Cheers, RickO
Sometimes you just have to put in a bid even if you don't think you can win.
I put in a low 5 figure Heritage Live bid but it went way over what I wanted to budget for this. In the end, it came down to a Heritage Live and Phone bidder with the phone bidder winning out at $40k hammer, $48k all in. It was fun listening to the auctioneer.
Amazing that it closed at $48k on a estimate of $20k-25k.
Love the medal. Hope to see a TrueView some time!
I like the looks of that. way cool
Awesome auction price for an awesome looking gold Weiner medal.
Wow, amazing !!!
Looking at details of the interior view, I am a bit surprised by numerous (minor) execution flaws.

Wow indeed. Never seen or heard of one of those.
