So my branch of BB&T is closing so I stopped to close out a safe deposit box I had gotten for free,
On a lark I asked about half dollar rolls.
Lady said she had $700 but warned they were brought in by a guy who "Got all the good dates"
I wanted some to spend so I took $100 and then pulled 7-40% halves
Went back and took the other $600.
Got a total of 62-40% halves and one 1940 English penny in AU condition.
Hard to believe after 50 years there is still silver to be found.
Of note I did not see any halves after about 1989.
I'd guess it was grandpa/grandma's stuff and they pulled all the 1964 and earlier but did not realize the 40% had value.

You obviously don't live in California. Gas this morning in the poor side of SoCal was $4.27 a gallon. This place is nuts. Nice scenery. But......stay away. Don't contribute to the madness!

I bought $12.50 in halves at my credit union on Monday after work. 9 out the 25 coins were 40% silver, ,mostly 1968 and 1969. Silver is out there, and I'm fine with that.

Yeah........that English penny was odd but it was really close to the right size for the roll.
First time I ever got one in a roll of halves.
