There is a real BUZZ around PCGS today (Big News for Apollo Coins)

The Astronauts Memorial Foundation (www.amfcse.org) has expanded its partnership with Professional Coin Grading Service (www.PCGS.com) to offer an exclusive label hand-signed by Apollo 11 Astronaut Buzz Aldrin for select Apollo 11 50th Anniversary Commemorative Coins.
The US Mint’s Apollo 11 50th Anniversary Coin Program was created to honor the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission, the first to land a man on the moon. The reverse of the 50th Anniversary Coins features a representation of the famous “Buzz Aldrin on the Moon” photograph. Now lucky collectors can purchase this coin from The Astronauts Memorial Foundation with an authentic signature by the world-famous astronaut featured on it.
Joe Orlando, CEO of Collectors Universe, Inc. stated “Partnering with the Astronauts Memorial Foundation has been a pleasure. PCGS and AMF are very excited to add yet another option for space exploration collectors and numismatists to consider. Attaching an iconic figure like Buzz Aldrin to this special coin product gives it the kind of appeal that can attract collectors from all genres. One could argue that no other name in space exploration history is more recognizable.”
The coins provided to PCGS for grading and encapsulation with this unique label are from AMF’s limited allocation from the Launch Ceremony where the first coins were sold. In addition to having Aldrin’s signature, these coins will carry the First Day of Issue Launch Ceremony pedigree. Only coins that were purchased at the official ceremony on January 24, 2019 are eligible for this exclusive pedigree.
In addition to Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin, PCGS and AMF have also certified coins with Apollo 13 astronaut Fred Haise. Coins featuring both Aldrin and Haise signatures are available at https://www.amfcse.org/apollo-11-50th-anniversary-commemorative-coin-program-2019. Proceeds from the sale of these coins go to further The Astronaut Memorial Foundation’s goals of paying tribute to our fallen astronauts and inspiring future generations of scientists, technologies, engineers, and mathematicians.
Since its founding in 1986, PCGS experts have certified over 41 million coins from over 100 different countries with a total market value of over $35.1 billion. WOW! That's really awesome!
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
In for the 5 ounce. Pure impulse buy. Very excited!
Awesome. Real first day of issues!
The Apollo 11 commemorative coin(s) combo with Aldrin's (or Haise's) signature and AMF slab, is an intriguing combination. I can easily see how some people would be interested in it.
One of the nice things about these Boards is that you'll find people with all sorts of esoteric knowledge. In case any of you are interested in maybe matching your signed AMF coin with a picture, typically a Buzz Aldrin signature on a famous 8 X 10 picture, select your choice of pix of Buzz on the lunar surface, will run you anywhere from $350 - $550. Aldrin signatures on less famous pix can drop down to the $150 range. You can get his signature on space related books for roughly $50 on up (depending on the book). Buzz's has signed A LOT of items, and it's easy to find and buy something with his signature on it.
Fred Haise's signature is another easy one to find. Signed Apollo 13 pre-mission 8 X 10 pictures of him in his white space suit will run you about $75, while signed pictures of the damaged Command and Service Module, or the "Lost Moon" pictures (close-ups of the back side of the Moon) will run you in the $200 - $250 range.
On all of the above items there are significantly higher prices paid on some examples, but with a little patience you can find the prices mentioned.
FWIW, both Aldrin and Haise are nice guys, and are interesting to talk with. IMO, Fred is easier on a personal level to talk with. I haven't seen Buzz in years, and from current pix of him, he appears to be showing his age (89). I saw and talked with Fred last summer, and he still seemed fit and vim. He is currently 85 with a birthday in November.
U.S. Type Set
These are great collector items... especially for those with interests in both areas. They were space pioneers and all great guys....Cheers, RickO
Very cool!

In as well. Buzz sig is priceless.
$1500 for the puck with auto is steep. Both can be had separately for about $500 total. I’m a big fan and have Buzz’s auto (and the rest of the crew) but wowee.
Please enter me in this very generous contest.
A little steep. Does it come with rolled moon dust..:)
Looks like they've sold 3 of the pucks and one silver dollar. Nobody has touched the gold.
Last night there were 5 listed as available for buzz for each. Now 2 left of pucks, 4 of silver dollar, 5 of gold.
No clue how many there actually are, would be extremely easy to just add more once the first 5 of each sell. I tried looking at coinfacts for pop on these, but no luck yet.
Gold Buzz - pop 32
5 oz Silver Buzz - pop 33
$1 silver Buzz - pop 55
Yowza this slab is HUGE!
Awesome @Tetromibi!!
Looks great! And the autograph does look hand signed. There was a debate about that on the /silver bug thread on Reddit.
Welcome to the forums @earthtogreg!
Interesting item but way to pricey for my modest budget.
I was going to say I'd buy the cheapie 50c but there ain't no cheapies 😤 Oh 💩
