It was a great talk, very interesting and information. But the best part (at least for me) was that Director Ryder said they are NOT doing away with the penny!
Interesting video... that Mayflower coin sounds interesting..and a joint effort with the British mint should add to the artistic quality. I do not have any faith in the U.S. Mint when addressing art on coins. Cheers, RickO

I think the Mint Director misspoke about a joint effort with the British Mint. It was the Australian Mint he meant to talk about.
I think the news he made was the possibility of changing the design of the silver and gold eagles.

I saw on the label for the 2019-W cent that they are calling them a "Penny" now. So is this the first time that the mint struck a Penny?
Even they have forgot what they make.
@EagleEye... Thanks for the input... but would prefer it was the British mint since they do seem to be more artistically oriented. I would be interested to hear more about 'anti-counterfeiting' devices for coins though... seems like metal alloys are the focus. Cheers, RickO

Some take aways from the vid (thanks @EagleEye for posting):
Joint Apollo coins with Australia and maybe with Spanish Mint.
Joint 400th Anniversary of Landing of Mayflower with British World Mint.
Maybe something with Italy/Vatican.

@EagleEye
He has mentioned the Mayflower and British mint collaboration twice now. Thread below is an article in CoinWeek.

Update:
If your collecting the Apollo coins, the joint US and Royal Australian Mint’s set is now available, more details in the Apollo thread: https://forums.collectors.com/discussion/comment/12319313/#Comment_12319313
Great to see the Pennsylvania Association of Numismatists (PAN) there.
Was the Pittsburgh Numismatic Society (PNS) represented?
