Ahhh. but which die rotated ?
It must be the reverse because that's the one that's rotated in the holder...
The question of which die is rotated reminds me of this map.
If you were standing on the moon, or alongside Captain Kirk, who determines which way is "up" on a map? (was given one of these maps when I spent a month down under).

Cool and one of the easiest to find of the rotated reverses.....Not much quality control there in Carson that first year of Morgans.

During its first few days coining silver dollars, Carson produced more coins with less damage to dies than San Francisco.
cool coin!

Nice acquisition.... I love the BST... and good for sellers as well... Cheers, RickO
Another view.
As far as eye appeal on circulated Morgans....I would choose that natural looking VF 100% of the time over the often washed out, dull looking high XF/ Low AU grades! Great pickup @Outhaul
The 1878-CC Rotated Reverse Dollars (all degrees)
are the 2nd most common RR type coins after the
very very common 1864 Two Cent Pieces w/ 180
degree RR's, imo.
The CC's are still very popular, especially in
BU grades.. This one looks about 35-40 degrees.
