I have a bunch of silver WQ's in a bag taking up space.
Have been wanting to do a circulated album but could not find a '32 - '64 album.
In another thread I learned that Chief Coin and Supply had discontinued new albums in stock.
This opens up some options like being able to always find inexpensive material just about anywhere.
Anybody else have side projects like this?
I think it's going to be handsome.

All kinds of side projects. Problem is completing them.
Did this on the ”Rocketship” as an experimental “upgrade.” Not as good as working with an album but had a spare hour a few weekends ago.
I’m doing the national park quarters

I have the Whitman 9018 32-45, 9031 46-59, and 9040 60-?. I stopped at 64. They look ok filled from junk silver. You may have to buy the 32 mint marks, but the rest can be found going through enough junk silver quarters. Have fun. Nice little side project.
The few old albums I have, are old albums I started when they were new.... Cheers, RickO
I have a coin album for virtually EVERY contemporary coin series. It's just fun.
There's a certain thrill finding some random coin to "fill a hole".....even if the coin is worth face value.
Nice looking group. It's always satisfying filling in albums. Have Fun!!!
U.S. Type Set
have fun with that one. it'll be fun
I doubt you'll find a hole for that quarter in the upper left hand corner

Ahhhh --- "Old School" as in enjoying a hobby and buying real coins, not silly labels !
Refreshing !
Nice!
While not an album, last time I was in my LCS poking around random old holders/albums, I found a Peace Dollar year set capital style holder and they let me have for $1. It had some minor scratches that polished out ok. Now I just need to find a nice raw Unc 1927 to finish it off.
Collector, occasional seller
I've got multiple albums going as well. Walkers, Franklins, Silver Eagles and pre-64 quarters.
The quarter album was just going to be circulated stuff until I came upon a deal for a bunch of UNC's and now I'm mainly upgrading the early years as I find them cheap.

Never gave up on old school...still filling them holes...on Board # 5. This is board # 1.

Old school is pretty much how I collect for the most part.
That's great that you came upon all those UNCs. I am starting an UNC album now too.
Go to a coin shop and ask if they keep old folders (like Whitman) that they get when people bring in partial or full sets.
My local dealer keeps 'em. He sells them with some coins already in them, like for a starter set.

I have an album with ASEs. It gets updated once a year. A real side project. Guess I need another.
Just completed my Dansco Lincoln wheat set album (after 25 years) this week. Also put in some 2019 coins into the other Dansco's. Put the 2019 Canadian Nickel in the Whitman album a few weeks back.
I love album collecting and have albums for all modern series through ‘64. Most are a work in progress and I’m missing the key dates.
Felicidades!
Going "old school" is the ONLY way I do things!!
I used to be able to get old, used Whitman blue folders at a nearby coin shop operated by an elderly gentleman at $1 apiece. They most likely came from customers' collections as he bought them. It was real cool to see earlier versions of the folders I was used to which covered different date spans and used different names for the series, and they allowed me to expand my collecting from just the basic Lincoln cents & Jefferson nickels as a youth to just about every denomination & series from the mid-to-late 1800's on (with the exception of most of the older silver denominations/series, unfortunately).
Many of the folders were printed/dated from the 40's thru the 60's, and many I had to pass on due to their musty smell that would never have left them no matter what. But I was able to find a bunch, and pretty much quintupled the size/range of my collecting as a result.
One in a while, I'd find a foreign folder there as well, but I also had the good fortune of finding Randy at Chief Coin & Supply (back before he had a website & just dealt thru the mail or fax with price sheets) for help completing my vast collection of Darkside folders which included Canada, Great Britain, Mexico, Australia, & New Zealand.
I think I'm done now, unless someone made a folder (I don't do albums) for Mexican 20 Centavos coins from the mid-20th Century............
I'll have to upload some of my folder pics one of these days.
