I was contemplating doing a grading set of Morgan Dollars...
The search in the archives produced interesting results.
Had forgotten about PCGS grading set coins are sometimes available.
Does PCGS do grading sets for each date, each mint, in each series?
What causes them to be released and end up on Ebay and Heritage?

They had them, but have moved to high res photos and the coins were sold off... look for a Gnnn in the middle of the label.

We have a $2.5 Indian set FA-2 to MS65 all in matching light blue holders.
I have the majority of a 1922-P Peace dollar grading set. I'm missing a few of the VF grades and higher MS grades. I haven't bothered to photograph it yet. It's a "back-burner" project. I can't find the motivation to send VF Peace dollars in for grading.
I have 25,30,35,40,45,50,53,55 & 58 in Trade $'s. I don't care for anything lower and can't justify going any higher than 58.
So thats means the staff does not have any coins to review if need be.Seems counterproductive to not have it for reference.
Are you talking about a generic grading set someone puts together or The Actual coins from the PCGS grading set?
Here's an example of the latter.
Sweet!
Might you folks bring that to a show?

I did a 1922 Weak D grading set. It was a lot of fun to hunt. But then I realized the money tied up in it and sold the entire set.

I'm currently working on a 1938 d buffalo nickel grading set I hope to finish soon.
I have not seen an actual PCGS grading set for sale... that would be an interesting set to have. Photographs have their limitations (and also value)....Cheers, RickO
I put this PCGS grading set of 1908-S Indian Head Cents together several years ago... was a fun way to learn how to better grade Indian Head Cents!
I sold off the set to another collector a few years back and he expanded it even further (up to 58 coins) by adding a few higher grades and some varieties. He is now trying to sell it all together on Great Collections.
