Have you ever had to prove the value of a coin?

This is just a random thought based on putting more money on upgrades into my car than it's valued at.
Anyway, if you showed someone a coin and they damaged it in the process and you do not agree on value, what was your recourse?

    Never let them near your coins again, but price guides and maybe ask a dealer.

    I would use price guides or - if available - closed auction prices. Cheers, RickO
