1947 One Cent Tripled Die?

It appears the L in Liberty is tripled or is it just doubled, any thoughts ?

The picture is far to blurry for accurate appraisal. Since it is only the L in question, it likely is not a doubled die, more likely some damage.... better pictures would help. Cheers, RickO

  • Thank you, sorry about the pics, seems to be the hardest part.

If your using a camera phone or some such gadget don’t try to take a closeup pic right off the bat. Best way to take a quick pic of a coin is to crank up the resolution as much as possible, take a clear, sharp, focused pic from a distance, then zoom and crop the pic.

A common effect seen on cents from this period
struck with worn or overused dies.

It is not a Doubled Die.
