Variety Bug by Rocco volume 1?
So I was been bitten by the variety bug. Here is a spread of most of my graded varieties. The left side and bottom groups are not attributed or are non CPG Variety Coins.
Depending of the reception of this thread, I might start a recurring thread series for my variety obsession. First highlight is the 1938 quadrupled Die obverse fs105
There are a few pick up points on this 38 to make verification a cinch. There is a raised dot to the left bottom of the L in Liberty, and extra thick letters which are really stacked four times. The lower right tip of the R letters are a diagnostic I use to “see” this even in bad photos.
This fat letter or circus font is also found on
1938 fs106
1939 fs101 ddo
1945 D fs101 ddo
And several minor variety examples.

"So I was been bitten by the variety bug."
I think it might have bit ya more than once.
Hey, I can't think of a better bug to be bitten by....except maybe the love bug(?)
@Aspie_Rocco Now that deserves a a BIG Awesome! You got bit hard by the V-bug and thanks for showing how far you have gotten!
And...
...that one row...
...it’s crooked.
That last row is the “antennae” of the Variety bug.
I guess I could have made the shape more round and similar to a lady bug

You have been a busy boy.
Would love to see a deeper dive on them, especially if you dont mind showing PUP's and creating competition... haha

Very Nice Rocco...I'm impressed.

@OnWithTheHunt
I have been working on this variety group since about 2015-2016. The majority I cherrypicked and submitted myself, I traded for several and bought just a few outright.
@yspsales I do plan to go over the PUPs, been having internet issues since yesterday. Will update soon.
@Peace_dollar88 nice dollars! I have not yet acquired a 1921
Thank you for the nice comments everyone

Here are diagnostics or pick up points I use to identify The qdo fs105
The fs106 is VERY similar, yet the nose shape is different. On the fs106 the letters are almost equally exaggerated, but the nose is doubled on the top and front (tip) also the die gouge /dot is not present to the left of the L. The nose on the qdo has extra only on the bottom under nostrils.

Here is a FS106. Very similar to qdo but different nose

The next highlight is the 1939 DDO FS101 reverse of 1940
This is one of my favorites, and this top pop example was once mine.
Notice the strong extra thickness at the base of obverse letters, similar to the 38 qdo and DDO 106
There are a few similar DDO for this year, less pronounced, and the closest has a raised crease in the upper lip which is Not found on the 101

Very nice DDO!
The 1943 FS102 DDO is similar to the previously covered DDO in this thread. Extra thick obverse letters, pick up points;
Cross of G, tips of R and lower tips of letters. A faint set of die clash spikes , one on chin and the other from hair above ribbon

Yet another extra thick obverse lettering DDO is the 1945 D FS101
This year DDO has two reverse dies both with RPM
Here is mine with the less obvious RPM 20
Pick up points are extra fat letters tip of R’s And lower letters and if you look closely at Liberty the E has a die gouge on top of it.

I for one enjoy all of your variety threads!
The Variety Bug is a good bug to have. Need any stickers on the backs of those slabs?

@Aspie_Rocco ..... what a bug that is ..... VIVA the V
I am yet to be bitten by ONE
A man after my own heart! Keep it crankin'!
I speak your laungage!
In a word, " wow"! Keep it up. Curious? What would the most expensive variety you have be?
"Jesus died for you and for me, Thank you,Jesus"!!!
--- If it should happen I die and leave this world and you want to remember me. Please only remember my opening Sig Line.Looks like you’ve been bit hard my man😊. What a lovely collection. You’ve been busy👍🏻👌🏻
Most expensive coins in my set I paid for were the MS65 1939 ddr and the MS65+ ddr (Monticello) paid around 2k for both
The highest list price or guide value are the two 1938 PR67 FS403 ($1,500 each)
Usually I prefer to locate the coins unattributed, and send them in my self, but issues like the 39 ddr 53 d/d 46 d/d were impossible for me to locate raw in a 3 year time frame, so I bought them outright.

Beautiful coins dude! Thanks for answering my curiosity mind. You are, I'm sure, an envy to most of us here. I know this is your preference, but DON'T sell them. LOL
One More Thing... Imagine, someone either not knowing of a variety coin or even not really caring for the difference. Ex: Your 1939 Jefferson MS 65 "Monticello DBL". In the regular price for a MS 65 would only be $24. WoW, that's a $1226 difference! Oh well, to each his own I guess?
"Jesus died for you and for me, Thank you,Jesus"!!!
--- If it should happen I die and leave this world and you want to remember me. Please only remember my opening Sig Line. That is an amazing collection of varieties... and even more so since you did almost all of it yourself. Congratulations... a major task indeed. Cheers, RickO
You will make this hobby very proud!
same with me - but I restricted it to just the trade dollar series, and to those with chop marks. still, I'm at over 40 varieties now!
Minor Variety Trade dollar's with chop marks set:
More Than It's Chopped Up To Be
I have to give credit where it is due,
I joined this forum because of your suggestion, after lurking for a long time. My first pcgs submission ever included at least 2 DDO/QDO if not more, raw coins from you dowgie,
There are about 3-4 slabs that came from @BigDowgie, 1-2 from @UtahCoin, 1-2 from @davewesen (I think) and the gorgeous 63 CAC Franklin from @georgiacop50
Also I bought the Kennedy halves, flying eagle, and capped bust already graded and attributed.

any trade dollars yet?
Minor Variety Trade dollar's with chop marks set:
More Than It's Chopped Up To Be
No trade dollars yet. I still need about 12 varieties to complete my Jefferson set, then I will look into more type coins For those sets.
I tried a type set with varieties but several attributed coins will not populate spaces in the registry sets, like the doubled die cents and halves.
