PNNA '19 small potato report
Oh its that time of year. Spring is coming around, and the PNW's "best show" is held once again.
I always look forward to the PNNA show, and this year is no different. Life has kept me busy as of late, so it was great to Coin Out for a good day.
This year's game plan: well, I didn't have one. With low expectations, there was no way I was going to be let down. On Saturday AM, I grabbed a box of coins I don't need, the YN hopped in, and we boogied. An hour and a half later, we were crossing that famous green bridge.
(stock photo. It was much noicer out)
The aroma of food truck was in the air as we walked up to the building. After a few minutes, Walt set my buddy's kid up with the treasure hunt. I paid for my admission, and off we were. We entered the room to a good amount of activity. As we walked the floor looking for trivia stops, most dealers seemed to have a positive attitude. The hunt had us walking the floor a few times over. Through our travels, there were many free coins given. All dealers were extremely nice. I would estimate there were about 10 young kids on the floor throughout the morning.
After being completely stumped by 1 stop, we gave in and asked Walt for help. He guided us to the Loo's table. The stop was easy to miss in their display case. We went back to the entrance and he was given his sample slab.
While walking the floor, I managed to stop at only about half the tables I would have liked to. Penny Lady was busy every time I passed, but she did give a HUGE smile as we first walked in. Hope she had a good show.
Some random observations from the day:
-several YN's were on the floor buying. always good to see
-I bought the last of one dealer's Apollo set
-several collectors were working on what appeared to be serious lists
-B.U.S.T. was impossible to sit down at
-one long time dealer is calling it quits. sounded like deals were to be had at his table
-the greysheet has an awesome cover this month
-the food truck either had amazing food or terrible service. maybe both
-one PCGS CAC coin I sold will be cracked out for a Dansco immediatley
-I did not see the Widget Master as I had hoped to
All in all, it was a good show for me and my partner. I was able to sell all but one coin that I took. He was able to buy a few "big silver coins" (kookas, etc). I do believe YN seeds are growing here in the area.
I will end with one of only two coins I bought for myself (and 99% of my money spent). I reached a little and busted my cherry with this one. She is believably original, and has my numismatic heart at the moment.
Cheers!

Thanks for the informative report @Kccoin. Good to read that YNs were active at the show, too!
Enjoyed the report - nice pickup. Did you get a discount for all that white stuff on the slab??
Question: why did you blot out the grade?
Very nice report.... some interesting points. I hope the food truck line was due to good food... That is a nice looking coin, though the pictures make it difficult to assess. Cheers, RickO
