Newp 100oz Colonial Silver Bar

ashelandasheland Posts: 23,714 ✭✭✭✭✭

From what I’m told, these are very scarce. My friend Tom had NINE of these come in his shop last week!

I got one today and another sold out of the shop. He’s keeping the others for his stash.

I’m very happy to add this to the stack!
mine is in the front

The serial number, 1687, is the year that Newton published, “Philosophiæ Naturalis Principia Mathematica.”

    That is a cool number!

Beautiful brick! Didn’t Engelhard make those Colonials?

Just based on appearance, it has a nice stamp and isn't all that beat up. :)

    Very Nice.
I don't think that these were ever serial numbered, BUT
You really should go back and get bar 1686 so you don't break up the set. :)
What was the magic number $$ on your bar?
    If I might ask.
I'm thinking someone didn't know what they had and the shop made a SWEET purchase.

I traded stuff for mine, so my cost is around 1500, but the owner of the shop is a friend of mine and I told him what they are. He was being nice trading to me for the spot price, however the other one he sold, he got 2K for.
