1965-67 Cameo and DCAM coinage (along with Cameo and DCAM proof coinage fro. 1936 to 1964 or even 1970) are often viewed as modern and pedestrian.
However the SMS niche area of the hobby offers a wide variety of collecting options and an opportunity for a collector to assemble a collection a high grade, eye appealing set of coins. Many such coins, both raw and slabbed, are available but it takes time and effort to find examples that meet the criteria for inclusion into a top notch set.
If one enjoys hunting for the right coin and having success in finding same within acceptable time periods the SMS coinage is a fun area to collect in.
From the photo it looks like the half dollar is a candidate for a bath. 50+ years of sitting in the OGP has caused some light haze to develop on the coin. Add to that the photo shows the coin in the OGP and the plastic hides the true appearance of same. I suspect in hand, after a bath the coin would look much better.
I'm with the majority...I won't offer an opinion on grade due to the holder issues....while the Rev. makes Cam the Obv. doesn't from what I am seeing in the pictures.
Bruce, these SMS sets are easily opened and the coins can be removed/replaced. that would give a better idea of what the coin actually looks like. my experience is that when free of the packaging they really do look a lot cleaner, higher grade to the camera lens. also, as Sanction mentioned, a rinse in E-Z-Est almost always improves the appearance of the SMS issues. I use a 50/50 mixture with distilled water and several rinses with water, 90% alcohol and acetone.
It has a great strike and looks good. But in my opinion it doesn't look like it would get into a 67 Cam holder. Uncertain what a 68 cam brings in the current market, though. Probably more than I can spend. That's a good one, Broadstruck.

I will presume you know how to do that.

Probably not enough to be worth your time
$300-$500
Here is the correct answer!
.
So, somewhere between $288 and $1680, just as a ballpark.
Mitch @wondercoin can give you an accurate price.
Is there any chance it could go DCAM?
If it doesn't grade at your number and gets a SP67, it is worth about $20.
When did you start collecting moderns?
Hmmm... perhaps I should send some of my Kennedy halves in...Naaah..... I won't sell them anyway. Cheers, RickO
I like an inquisitive mind. Surprised at who's asking, but it makes me happy to read.
There goes my high bid....
Very salable coin....If it DCAM's is a huge hit

I am not seeing 68 and not seeing DCAM. Might go CAM but who knows these day?
I never said dcam. In hand, it’s a very strong cam
your pic looks closer to this for me ... but who knows, collectors club special this month and modern so probably worth the risk.
looks SP65 to me. No way that is going 68 with the mess on that face. You've already wasted enough time.
I never said you said that. That is the only thing that will pull that coin from 20 bucks in value. I am surprised you think it is anywhere near a 68.

Not seeing a CAM grade or a 68 grade from those photos.

This is a straight line and we have to finish it?
How about
"watch out for that tree!!!"
"Leave that babysitter alone "
"careful , it's not a seaplane!"
Thats it I'm out
