Is the Lincoln Cent Expert a worthy resource?
Is Dr Sol Taylor still alive?
Any interesting stories from dealers who may have known him?
According to his website, he began collecting in the late 1937 and seems to have fallen off the internet circa 2008...
Was watching an old video FUN presentation by him last night from the early 2000's as he spoke on cherry picking Lincoln cents.
Interesting character and seemed like a relentless cherry picker.

Sol Talyor is still around and regularly writes about Lincoln Cents in The California Numismatist magazine. You can see back issues here:

And if anyone needs hooked up with a subscription, let me know and I can help.

Had lunch with Sol when I was heavy into Lincolns. Passionate guy, very interesting. I found his book to be a useful resource. Glad he's still with us.
Our aging experts are treasures in themselves. So much knowledge acquired over decades in the hobby. I am glad some write books and articles to preserve their wisdom. Cheers, RickO
Seems Dr. Sol Taylor passed away just one month after this thread was started. (April 2019.)
I didnt know that, and some research brought me to this thread.
