Not in hand yet, but I think it fits im my set perfectly. I just love the subtle rim tone that blends in with the rest of the coin. Hope the luster is there. What do you think. GTG if you please.

Since that's the "glamour" shot, you might be disappointed; MS 65

Nice Texas great set to work on
I would think if it is a true 66, I bet the luster is there despite the pics. Congrats!

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess MS66 with a green CAC sticker.......
Luster looks better in the slab shots. I imagine you'll like it. It has a wholesome, original look.
Wonderful!

Real coin looks much nicer than the glamour shot....first time I have seen that .
I assume I have entered the bizarro world.

Doc,
The glamour shot I got from GC on a 66 FBL Franklin showed no lustre either (no Trueview, NGC).
The grade of coins with that kind of 'look' are not a deal breaker for me. If I like the coin-though sometimes I ask another opinion from a friend-and the price seems fair, I like buying coins such as the one above. Nice looking Texas.
Congrats! Nice looking Texas! AB
Nice Texas commem... I like them very much.. and have a couple.. I lived in Houston for a couple of years and really liked Texas and the people there...Cheers, RickO

Texas! Yes, I do enjoy that Lone Star and Eagle!
I think your going to love it when it arrives. Luster will be strong.
With these, I like the simplicity of the obverse and the complexity of the reverse.

Felicidades!!
Perhaps my favorite commemorative. That's a nice surprise I am sure, but sometimes you just have to see a coin in hand to really appreciate it completely.
Me guess 66 on the graded holder one
Best place to buy !

My favorite commemorative. A long term (very long term) project is to get all 15.
Looks nice! I think the attempt to get the color in the TV at the expense of the luster led to the unflattering picture. I'm hoping it looks like the 2nd picture with more luster and some pastel colors amidst the golden toning.

A lot of short-run commems don't get great luster because the die wasn't used long enough to get some wear. The '34 did because it was the first year and was popular. My money is on the second photo set.
