Definitely my nicest find yet.Nice coin but has that unattractive look in the center.Im afraid to even put in disstilled water.I have had coins loose their luster after disstilled soak.Would appreciate some expert advice thanks!

Congrats on your DDO find!
Unless there is something you see on the coin that I can't you would be best to enjoy it in it's current condition.
Thanks! This is the worst of the crud that I see it's hard to get a good pic of it
Just try some acetone. Nice Find.

Very nice cent @GEMan.
I would not do anything to the cent until you figure out what the problem is.
Where is the verdigris? Edit to add... looks like it is on Abe and to the left and right fields.
What IS those whitish speckles under LI?
Looks like water may remove it, just don't do a soak a rinse and pat dry should work. (don't rub)
I'll try the water rinse first and see.By nicest find I mean the
best doubling. The clear separation is really neat!! Getting closer to the big 58ddo.wishful thinking anyway.
Nice class VI. I also found mine in a jar of coins. That is a real good one!

Congratulations.... try an acetone soak followed by alcohol rinse then hot water. Should clear it up.. Cheers, RickO
This.
