1876 Independence Medal in Wood

Just ran across this piece in the ANA Numismatist which I thought was neat. The article is written by Donald G. Tritt, ANA 1030065. It's interesting the Numismatist includes the author's ANA number on the article.

I'm a big fan of these Independence Centennial medals and this would be great to have in a full collection.

It's also nice to know there was a publication called The Coin Circular in 1875. I'll have to see if they've been digitized by the NNP or Google Books.

I have to say John Haseltine had a pretty impressive stash!

    Very interesting... I have never seen one of these at a show or shop. Would be a nice piece to add to my collection. Cheers, RickO
