Not too many surprises except for the Larkin and the '90 Donruss. I'm pretty not happy about the '90 Donruss but maybe when I get them back I'll find that they got dropped in a bowl of nacho cheese or something. At least that would make sense.

The Canseco Rated Rookie was a local antique store pickup for $8. It looked pretty 10ish in the store so I grabbed it, very glad I did. Obviously, I forgot about the 1-grade penalty for submitting Michael Jordan cards. I won't forget that next time. Submit 11s if you want 10s. Most of the 8s I knew were 8s but they're for my PC and just wanted them slabbed.

Don't tell me this! I just sent in 56 late 80's/early 90's Jordan cards in a bulk sub in Jan. Anything less than a 10 of what I subbed is not worth the grading fee.
You got some nice hits in there and very nice on the Canseco!

I love the variety in your sub. I certainly lean basketball so I look forward to seeing the Number Crunchers Jordan. Too bad one of those 9's didn't end up a 10. Nice hit on the Canseco Rated Rookie. I still remember when I was growing up and that card was $100 at card shows, when we had card shows and before grading companies were a thing.

Yeah, I didn't even know how to grade them. I just threw them in the sub as lottery tickets. Hopefully when they come back I'll be able to see what makes an 8 and what makes a 9.

It's the way action packed cards are made, folded cardboard and glued( as I'm sure you know already).
The stock being folded onto itself creates air space between the layers. Any outside weight applied or the weight of the cards as they sit through the years, creates vertical lines running the length of the card. Sometimes on the front, sometimes on the reverse. The lines on the cards are impressions from the other cards in the pack as they sit unevenly stacked. Look for that. I bet that's the issue with the 8.
    The 9? Grader preference...who knows.

I just dug up some action-packed cards to show you guys what to look for. Impressions are usually located right on the edge but not always

Nice job on the Canseco! Those Gonzo reverse negatives were very cool back in the day.

One of my favorite cards in your sub is the Kidd High Voltage card. If that set was in a product besides Classic, I think it would have gone bonkers like all the other 90's inserts. Similar design to the '93 Ultra Scoring Kings but has more of a refractor like finish.

Some nice hits. Similar to your results, I'm debating whether to ask them to hold some of my orders and let this phase of the G.O.D. pass over...No pun intended. :)

Some scans. Guess I'll start with the Jordans. I can maybe see how one of the '93s is a 9 but I went back over the other one and still can't find anything. I'm going to just put them both up and someone with more patience than me can battle it out for the 10. The Number Crunchers looks good to me too. Again, no patience. The Embossed is definitely a 9 but a 9 for that card is pretty tough to come by. Those cards BRICK out of the pack. I opened a bunch of boxes and most cards ended up with the white speck damage. On top of that, they're thick and not pliable and have that leather feel to them. Whatever they used to cut them wasn't that great so chipping on the back edges is a huge problem with this set. So I'm pleased with the 9, hopefully at least two other people will be also.

I think I had the Kidd pegged as a 9, can't remember. Either way, it's just a beautiful card and it's for my PC so just wanted it slabbed.

I'm struggling on these Ryans. I can see the speckiest of specks of white on one of the card's corners but the other is clean as a whistle. The only thing I can come up with is that these are the copper variation and instead of recognizing them as a variation (I didn't ask them to notate the flips since they haven't been cataloged anywhere yet) they deducted a grade for differing color?

I found a white speck on one corner but, again, the other is clean as a whistle. I have no idea on that one as I can't even point to a color variation to theorize on. It will be going back in or I may even just send it in for review.

On the bright side, I did hit a few. Here's the Maddux and Canseco.

And this I knew was 8ish but they're pretty tough to come by and it's for my PC so I just wanted it slabbed.

That's them. I can add scans of any of the others if anyone wants. Thanks for playing along!

On both Ryan's the lower left hand sides look like an old cutting wire was used.
I'd expect those rough edges on an OPC but not a Topps- hence the downgrade
Just compare those lower edges with the Gonzalez- totally different.

On the Gonzalez top one has a minor flipped top right corner the bottom one is off slight T-B but well within tolerance. Must be something else they saw. The lower one I'd send in for review.

On the Bonds look for a surface blemish somewhere and its also off L-R as well.

I'd like to see a pic of this one if you could

Thanks Jeff. Agree on everything you said. Guess I just didn't think they'd ding the edge as it's not so bad that the back of the card is affected. The Bonds I knew was an 8, just wanted it slabbed.

I'm slowly (and I emphazise the word slowly) working on the W575-2 set. I've got the Ruth and the Cobb so it should be doable. Condition doesn't matter to me so I just lay in the weeds and grab raw cards when they come up. The set is neither related to the W575-1 set nor hand cut. Here's the Hooper:

Those 90D reverse nagatives bring back memories. The 89UD Dale Murphy was all the rage back then.
