I’m going to post a picture of a gun that I was about to get appraised for a family member when it got stolen. Does anyone recognize this type of gun and what if might be so I can tell police.

Looks like a flintlock. without the markings it will be hard. Send the picture to the NRA Museum in Fairfax, VA.
Until you do, go online and look for a forum dealing with firearms. Google "firearm forum."
I did your work...Google "antique long gun forum." There are many!
@Lyndag Sorry for the loss of long gun. Hope you are able to recover it.
@Insider2 brought up a good point to check with the NRA. Check this site: http://www.nramuseum.org/guns/the-galleries/road-to-american-liberty-1700-to-1780/case-4-shot-heard-round-the-world.aspx
Since this thread is already wayoff topic to a numismatic forum... Is that a real landline phone on the wall above the table? Not too many peole have those anymore. Still got mine, too.
@Insider2 lol. Yes it is.
@Insider2 there’s also a big pink rotary one into the back room. And yes, they’re still working.
@Hemispherical and thank you. Thought I was hiding back here in the dungeon. Heehee
Flintlock but so many made just about impossible to ID without specific markings. Peace Roy
