Unusual mintmark location on Jefferson Nickel

This 1973-D caught my eye because of the mint mark placement--it's quite low, almost to the rim and well away from its usual placement in the "notch" of the ribbon.
I think these are cool, and while they have never really caught on with collectors, I usually notice a really weird one.
Somewhere I have a wildly misplaced D on a 1957-D Lincoln Cent.
I'll post pics if I can find the coin.

That is real low.
