I have not heard/read anything on them, assuming zinc with copper plating.

The Mint should do a "4th" W cent release this year onto general circulation, made out of real copper.

Heck, follow the W quarter mintage of 2 million seems about right too.

the 2019 silver proof set will probably be selling for under 40 within a year so the cent will cost about 15 dollars

    Yep.

    USS127072xx

I wonder if the envelope is really made at West Point.

I never put the proof W into the envelope, since it would probably ruin the envelope. (The cent comfortably rests between the two lenses, and the envelope fits inside the proof box...)

I’ll be almost glad when this W craze will be over. Almost, because this is a known, what’ll be next? BEP opening another print site?

Oh wait, that is under consideration.

Possible moving DC operations to Greenbelt, MD. Posted on the Currency Forum. Oh joy! ;)

@ricko... but don't forget about the $1 coin too.

I'll be satisfied with just the five quarters.

I agree the ASE is the REAL dollar coin but I was referring to those dreaded golden color impostors.

    Edit to add:

Someone lose a bit of blood? ;)

Appears to be on top of the E (can’t tell if it’s in the B) and faintly in the field below the IBE.

Another anomaly on these cents. :o

In five days the 2019 Silver PF has sold over half of the total sold for 2018’s Silver PF set.

I’m supposing there are two contributing factors:
    -2019-W RP cent
-first silver PF set using 99.9% silver versus 90%

    Mintage comparison:
    2019: 191670 as of 21 Apr 19 (released 17 Apr 19)
2018: 306124 as of 30 Dec 18 (end of run)

    ——-

General information and specifications (note the differences in weights).

    Item number/description: 19RH/2019 Silver PF
    Mintage: 191670
    As of: 04/21/2019

    Item number/description: 18RH/2018 Silver PF
    Mintage: 306124
    As of: 12/30/2018

    ——-

So that leads to the next obvious question.

Have there been any dimes, quarters, or halves previously minted with 99.9% silver?

Good question, doubtful but I'm sure it would spark interest for some to start to check. The mintage number for 2018 of vs 2019 pf is kind of astounding.
Still, looking forward to picking mine up this week.

Welcome @pizza442 to the forums. Is the smear on the coin or bag?
Also, there appears to be something along the lower part of Abe’s bust.

It would be cool to get a nice custom display to showcase all W mm lincolns together.

    Good idea!

    Add the 2019 ATB W-quarters, ‘96 W-dime, and ‘14 W-Kennedy.

    No W-nickel, though.

    Yep. From Coinworld:

coinworld: Collectors reporting problems on Reverse Proof 2019-W cents

Collectors are returning many of the bonus coins along with the sets to receive replacements because the West Point Mint cents exhibit problems.

  • Options
    HemisphericalHemispherical Posts: 9,370 ✭✭✭✭✭

“The dilemma that collectors like Haynes are experiencing is that, to receive a replacement for the damaged bonus cent, at their own expense they must return the entire Proof set along with the bonus cent, even though the superior quality of the set’s coins struck at the San Francisco Mint are not in question.”

The dilemma is that returning a product takes a long time for a replacement to arrive.

Third and final W cent is now available from the Mint, but you have to buy the 2019 Uncirculated Coin Set. The cent has the uncirculated finish.

“New in 2019! Premium Coin: The 2019 Uncirculated Coin Set is accompanied by a special edition 2019 Lincoln penny with an uncirculated finish struck at the West Point Mint with a “W” mint mark. Well, I guess I'll post it here.

    Got my uncirc set today.

    My "W" cent looks perfect.

However, it's the Denver Sacabuck that really stands out. It's definately proof-like. The D-half, maybe.

I'd send it in for a grade, but I've got a curse getting MS coins to grade well.

I know I used to get on Denver's case about quality, but the Denver coins are a step above Philly's in my mint set...

I'll try to get a pic up when I get the chance.
