Assuming you are talking about a period made by carbon atoms (Pencil lead is almost pure carbon) and that period has a mass of 0.0001g Then the answer is 5x10raised to the 18 power [5000000000000000000] atoms.

There are 12.011g of carbon per mol, there are 6.022x1023 atoms per mol.
