Just added a neat variety if you will to my Variety Showcase...

This is the 1945-D "High D". Not in any book...just a variety I have noticed over the years looking at a LOT of Dimes. Not rare as I have seen several. I was just waiting for the right one to come along. This PCGS66FB fit the bill. The "D" is far right and high up in the crotch of the leaf and branch. Thanks for looking and comments always welcome.

Very nice Jon... and RickO Approved....
Cheers, RickO
@DIMEMAN In my book The Complete Guide to Mercury Dimes, Lange shows a photo of what he calls a "highly placed D" for the 45. Is this the same or different from yours?
I have found this book to be a good resource on the Mercurys.
My strategy is about collecting what I intend to keep, not investing in what I plan to sell.
@rmorgan yes, that is it. I didn't realize it was in that book and I have that book.
John, Did you photoshop the High D on the slab pic? Reason I ask, is that it's a darker black than the other letters.
Nice white variety example...and @ricko approved, best of both worlds?

Hello Heidi!
Nice pick and variety.
Looks like a later die stage of the far left reference photo
