I enjoyed watching matches between Sargent Slaughter and The Iron Shiek.

Blackjack Lanza and many other wrestlers from the late 60's and 70's are my favorites.

I had outgrown professional wrestling by the time Hulk and the rest came along, but as a kid I remember rooting for Harley Race, and booing Ted DiBiase.

This is for you @thisistheshow - Jim Rice was actually a pretty good player.

I think it's cool that you remember them announcing him from there, or did you just look it up ? My guess is that you remembered.

I wonder how many people remember which wrestlers were from "parts unknown".

Oh I remember. We used to go to the matches and then come home and react them. It was also must see TV. That and Danny Gallivan and Howie Meeker on Hockey Night and Canada

I had a hockey board game that Howie Meeker was involved . You had to build a team using fake hockey cards. They were real players but the game didn't have the rights so they were cartoon drawings with only first names. You could tell who they were supposed to be pretty easily
